TAKE A DAY TRIP TO CASCAIS
Cascais is a seaside town located 16 miles west of Lisbon; it was once a calm fishing village but became a trend when King Luis I went for a swim in 1870! The town is famous for its sandy beaches, shiny marina, and al fresco restaurants, and is the perfect destination for a day trip from Lisbon. Keep in mind that it tends to get very crowded during weekends.

TIME OUT MERCADO DA RIBEIRA
Have a quick lunch at the Time Out Mercado da Ribeira – Lisbons biggest market, housed in a large food hall with numerous food stalls to choose from. Try the seared tuna pregos on carob bread, the Portuguese tarts and local green wine (vinho verde).
SHOP AT THE MERCADO BIOLOGICO
Shop at the Mercado Biologico in Principe Real Garden, where every Saturday morning local farmers gather to sell their produce. In addition to the usual fresh fruits and vegetables, you will find cereals, olive oil, bread and wine, produced according to organic farming practices.
BEATO AND MARVILA
Head to the Beato and Marvila neighborhoods. Located in the eastern industrial part of the city, these two neighborhoods are filled with startups, quirky restaurants, craft beer breweries and galleries. Marvila is famous for its amazing street art so stroll around and marvel at some impressive graffiti.
TICKLE YOUR TASTEBUDS
No visit to Lisbon is complete without a visit to Pasteis De Belem. Launched in 1837, it is one of Lisbon’s oldest patisseries whose specialty is, as its name implies, Pasteis De Belem! These egg custard tarts are perfect to be eaten warm with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a cup of strong coffee!
ROSSIO SQUARE
Located in Lisbon’s Baixa district, Rossio Square is the liveliest square in the city. Packed with bars, shops, and outdoor cafes, Rossio Square is a great place to sit back, relax have a refreshing drink while watching people go by!
CHAMPALIMAUD FOUNDATION RESEARCH CENTER
The Champalimaud Foundation Research Center is housed in one of Lisbon’s most futuristic and remarkable buildings set on the riverbank of Tagus. Visit the gardens and open-air amphitheater, or simply sit at Darwin’s cafe to appreciate the incredible view.
AGUAS LIVRES AQUEDUCT
Built during the 18th century, the Aqueduct once played an important role in supplying the city of Lisbon with water and was considered one of the most outstanding water supply systems of its time. With its impressive height, the Aguas Livres Aqueduct is both a remarkable feat of engineering and an interesting attraction, perfect for a quiet walk that offers panoramic views over the city of Lisbon.

Situated on the beautiful coastline that extends to the west of Lisbon, Estoril boasts glorious sandy beaches and excellent Portuguese food. It is a perfect family friendly day trip.
TAKE A TUK TUK RIDE
A Tuk Tuk ride is an exciting experience and a fun way to get to know Lisbon. Tuk Tuks will take you up the steep cobbled streets to discover historic neighborhoods such as Alfama, Graca, and Bairro Alto. They can be found parked at central streets and squares in Lisbon, namely Praca dos Restauradores, Praca da Figueira, Rua do Carmo and Largo das Portas do Sol in Alfama.
