EXPLORE THE PORT TOWN OF PARIKIA
The port in Parikia can be rather chaotic, especially during high season. However, once you leave the port and the crowds begin to thin out, you’ll find that there are quite a few things for you to enjoy in this traditional Cycladic town. You will discover a variety of interesting shops as well as some of the island’s best restaurants and cafes. VISIT LEFKES VILLAGE
Lefkes, the island’s historic capital, was founded by Cretan migrants in order to protect themselves from pirate raids. The village’s architecture features beautiful neoclassic buildings and winding narrow pathways designed to disorientate invaders. Here you will find a variety of cafes and tavernas from where you can appreciate the traditional character of this charming mountain village.
VISIT PAROS PARK
At the Environmental and Cultural Park of Paros you can engage in a diverse range of activities. Take one of three hiking trails and enjoy the beautiful Cycladic landscape, go swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Monastiri beach, or catch a movie under the stars at the park’s open-air cinema. Between June and October you can also experience the park’s annual festival with a number of music concerts and cultural events taking place on a regular basis.
EXPLORE THE OLD TOWN OF NAOUSSA
The quaint town of Naoussa is typically calm during the day but come nightfall its narrow cobblestone alleys come to life with the sounds of vibrant music and boisterous chatter under the moonlit sky. The old town is teeming with restaurants and bars so find a spot at one of the outdoor tables and enjoy an evening of authentic island nightlife.
ENJOY THE BEACHES OF PAROS
Part of what makes the Cyclades such an alluring destination is the wonderful variety of beaches that can be found on its islands, and Paros is no exception! From high-energy cosmopolitan beach bars to unspoiled seashores, you will certainly find a beach that fits your personal style. Santa Maria and Chrysi Akti are an excellent choice if you like organized beaches with a lively atmosphere, whereas if you are looking for a relaxing day at the beach, Ambelas, Molos, and Piperi are some of the best options. Not to be missed is Paros’ Kolymbithres beach - the island’s most famous beach! It offers a spectacular landscape, while granite rock formations adorn its sandy shores, and perfectly blend with its glistening sapphire waters, creating a truly spellbinding sight.
TAKE A DAY TRIP TO ANTIPAROS
If you find yourself yearning for some downtime in a low-key location away from the crowds, the quiet island of Antiparos is the perfect place to go. This small island is located southwest of Paros, within a distance of 7.8 miles and is easily accessible by ferry from the port of Punda. Walk through the town’s cobblestone paths and relish in the Mediterranean sun at the pristine beach of Agios Georgios before heading over to one of the local tavernas to sample delicious, fresh seafood.
